Word formation

Dear friends!

We  would like to sum up the main points of today's class and provide you with useful information. First off, you will need to thoroughly study units 8, 9 and 10 in the book "English Vocabulary in Use Upper-Intermediate" and accomplish exercises to check your understanding.

Below, you will find some further information on the current topic.

Check out this site with the ENORMOUS table full of roots, suffixes and prefixes:

Now, what do you think about singing along to this lovely rap song?

Home assignment:
1. Choose a quote you like that contains a word with a Greek or Latin root.
2. Use one of these sites to create a postcard with the quote of your choice:

http://quozio.com/
3. Paste the picture you created in your blog.
4. Write a reflection (your thoughts) on the quote using 20 words from Units 8, 9 and 10 ("English Vocabulary in Use Upper-Intermediate") pp. 16-21. You can use words provided or those of your own containing given affixes or roots (which means you have a great choice of words, just remember to highlight them!). Express your thoughts in 180-200 words.

E(xempli) G(ratia)
(Quozio is used for the picture)

Although this quote might sound quite ironic, the significance of the Latin language shouldn't be underestimated........
